Very excited to announce I was selected as a Fast Track fellow. Pitched to 58 times: a fast-paced, intensive three-day event that saw participants connect in timed intervals—speed-dating style!—with a wide range of established financiers, production companies, representation and other film industry professionals with the power to help projects level-up. The Black List has selected Washing Elelna as one of it's ten scripts that make up the inaugural Latinx List. I'm very excited to be a part of this list and look forward to attending NALIP for it's announcement.

Grateful to be back again at SFFILM FilmHouse for another great year. Get to continue working with amazing mentors like Nicole Perlman, Jenny Frisbee, Kimberly Parker, among others. Great camaraderie with other talented troublemakers, and wonderful support from the artist development team at SFFILM.

Headed to Tzintzuntzan, Mexico, in the state of Michoacan, where, incidentally, I was born. I get to meet with an amazing group of mentors and nine other writers from around the globe to workshop Washing Elena. Beautiful swallows and mezcal in the land of the Purepecha!

So excited that this year I get to focus my attention on developing Washing Elena with an amazing bunch of mentors as one of the SF Film House Artists in Residence! HEADED TO SAN ANTONIO

Woke up to the best news ever. In March I get to go to San Antonio, TX, because Washing Elena got accepted into the Latino Screenwriting Project! Wow, this is gonna be so great. Get to toss ideas around with some amazingly talented Latino writers (some of whom are already so accomplished). Now to find some good BBQ joints.

The Rainin Fellow in Film 2022

n April 2022, the Kenneth Rainin Foundation announced the recipients of The Rainin Fellowship, an initiative now in its second year that supports visionary artists working across disciplines in the Bay Area. Administered by United States Artists, the Fellowship awards four artists annually with unrestricted grants of $100,000, as well as supplemental support tailored to address each Fellow’s specific needs and goals, including financial planning, communications and marketing help and legal services.
